25 Tablecloths Perfect for Summer Dinner Parties
With summer well underway, we’ve been doing plenty of hosting, enjoying outdoor meals with friends & family, and taking every opportunity to have drinks on the patio. It’s certainly al fresco season and I’ve been happy to take advantage of the nice weather. Today, I wanted to share 25 tablecloths perfect for summer dinner parties- setting the scene for a beautiful tablescape and meal shared with loved ones this season. Click through for my top timeless picks for every budget!

Most recently, I shared my al fresco summer tablescape, and that particular tablecloth garnered quite a few source requests. As did another popular one, that came from my pasta making dinner party… and of course, we can’t forget my blue & white tablescape for summer. I knew a post was in order. Rather than investing in seasonal serveware, the easiest and most cost effective way to create a unique tablescape is to swap your textiles. Tablecloths and napkins are the perfect way to set a seasonal table. Scroll on for my summer favorites…
Styling Ideas…
Don’t forget- there are plenty of ways to style tablecloths! Get creative indoors and out. Here is a quick list of versatile suggestions for thinking outside the box when it comes to tablecloth use:
- Style an indoor tablescape (obviously)
- Set an outdoor al fresco table (again, an obvious thought)
- Use a tablecloth as a lightweight throw, styled over a sofa or arm of a chair
- Update a headboard by draping or pinning a patterned tablecloth over the existing headboard
- Repurpose a tablecloth into a cafe curtain (using curtain clips and a tension rod)
- Use an old tablecloth for an upholstery project (like a bench of seat of a chair)
- Style it over an entry table to add pattern, color, or texture
- Drape it over a console table for a seasonal update
- Alternatively, you can even repurpose a lightweight throw to use as a tablecloth

FAQ
This depends on your table. Tablecloths are almost always standard size. I like to work backwards with the product dimensions, then measure my table to visualize how it will fit. The general formula is this… measure the length and width of your table, then add twice the desired drop to the length and width.
I’m not too picky when it comes to tablecloths! Natural materials are always nice, like cotton or linen, but I also appreciate a performance cloth that isn’t subject to staining.
