40 Designer Approved Roman Shades to Fit Any Budget
One design topic I’m frequently asked about is window treatments. They can be a costly investment that can make or break the overall look & feel of a room. Therefore, I think it’s equally as important to consider both form AND function. As an interior designer, I can honestly say- you don’t have to spend a fortune to have well dressed or well functioning windows. Today, I wanted to share 40 designer approved roman shades to fit any budget or aesthetic. I’m also sharing my tips for layering shades with drapery panels… which can help achieve a custom, designer look for less. Click through for my finds!

I love to pair woven wood shades with drapery panels because the warmth, texture, and contrast offers a nice layered juxtaposition. If you’re on a budget, don’t sleep on readymade curtain panels. Check out this post for how to train readymade curtains for a more customized look! As far as the shades go, check out some of my timeless picks below…

FAQ
I definitely prefer an inside mount. I think it looks clean and custom!
Not at all- most shades are incredibly easily to install and just require a few screws. They all come with instructions, and the hardware is always concealed.
The ones in my formal living room are more decorative than anything, so they don’t offer much privacy. We don’t ever use them, as that side of our house is secluded… I mostly installed them for texture and warmth.
