Al Fresco Summer Tablescape
I spent the weekend landscaping and finishing our outdoor living spaces. Every spring, I pull our outdoor furniture from the storage shed, power wash, and ready our outdoor areas for use & enjoyment. With the backyard & patio looking clean, pulled together, and with summer around the corner- I decided to set our first al fresco table of the season. Outdoor entertaining is my favorite way to host a dinner party, and this may be favorite yet! Click through for a fun summer tablescape and to see how our patio currently looks…

Before I get to my latest tablescape… if you’d like the complete tour of our outdoor living areas, I’ll link them here: the balcony, the garden, the shed, outdoor dining area, backyard patio, and the overall exterior. Nothing has really changed since last year… aside from my plants. Go have a look around!
My Patio

This year, I leaned into classic terracotta, woven & textural neutrals, and used most of what we already had. It’s fun to think back… I first styled this space back in 2019, our patio & outdoor living space, and it still looks pretty much identical.

I did end up having to replace the outdoor rug beneath the table, but aside from that- everything came back for another season. I love the timeless texture of the new rug and it’s affordable!

Tabletop Styling

I grabbed the most stunning striped linen tablecloth from McGee & Co, and I know it’s going to get a lot of use this season. It’s soft, casual, and the subtle green hue really complements our landscaping. Speaking of- our snowballs (viburnum) are just beginning to change. I’m honestly shocked this many survived, as we just had 4″ of snow this time last week. The weather in Utah is always unpredictable this time of year.

I used our everyday dishes, flatware, simple cotton napkins, and my beloved faux bamboo napkin rings to style this simple tablescape. I snipped some snowballs from the yard and dropped them into an oversized vase to create a cohesive (and free) centerpiece.

I also have to share my new glassware. I just got these Juliska Berry drinking glasses for our kitchen. They felt especially perfect for this breezy outdoor table setting. They’re heavy and have a vintage European aesthetic.

The last touch was to add some votive candles. I keep a box of these glass votives in my closet for occasions exactly like this! Every al fresco dinner party requires flickering candles and string lights for instant summer ambiance.
Bar / Planter Cart

My old bar or planter cart is still one my favorite things on our patio. This practical cart is the most fun to style and it’s always functional. I use it for elevating food (usually dessert or appetizers), as a bar or beverage station, for extra dishes, planting, and everything in between. This area is also the dog watering station, as it’s adjacent to our water spigot.

Isn’t my little herb garden looking cute this year? We’ve only got one set of these handmade planters left in the Tuesday Made shop! Speaking of shopping, I’ll link everything for you below…

FAQ
I’d love to install pavers over the concrete. I’m not sure if that will happen this year, but I think it would be fairly easy. We’re also planning an outdoor kitchen (longterm goal).
Of course! It’s this one… and I believe it’s going on sale later this week. We purchased this table back in 2018 for our carport makeover at our previous home and it has held up beautifully!
