15 Best Home Decor Finds from At Home for 2024
It’s time for a new in-person shopping trip post, and this time we’re checking out At Home. I’ll admit, I’m not a huge fan of this store. Everything from their slogan, “The Home Decor Superstore” plastered across the front, to the overwhelming amount of stuff they carry feels a little overwhelming. It’s a store I seldomly duck into. However, someone sent me a message requesting an At Home shopping trip, and I thought it was only fair to oblige. I know I lot of people love it, I did find a handful of things, and I even came home with a couple items. It’s always a fun challenge to poke around and see what feels fresh. Click through for my 15 best (designer approved) home decor finds from At Home. Let’s go shopping, shall we?

If you missed my last few shopping trip posts, be sure to check out my Finds from Pottery Barn, Finds from Target, Finds from HomeGoods, Finds from World Market, and Walmart! My hope is these in-person style shopping posts will help you navigate accessible stores nearby and provide a fun peek into what I’d actually buy, as a designer. While I was quick to judge At Home, I did uncover some surprising things! Let’s go inside…
1. Pedestal Planters
I found almost every item I snapped photos of in store, online… excluding these planters- though there are plenty of similar options. If you like these specific planters, definitely check your local store. I thought these were a nice neutral, had a good looking shape, and would be ideal for elevating plants year round. I do have mums on my mind for fall at the moment!

Shop the Pedestal Planters $9 – $90
2. Contrast Stitch Pillow
I strolled down the pillow aisle and wasn’t impressed, but I did uncover these gems. They have a contrast whip stitch that feels higher end, a down insert, a nice neutral color palette, and would be a cozy addition to any sofa, daybed, or window nook.

Shop the Pillow $19.99
3. Mango Wood Kitchen Goods
I was pleasantly surprised by a robust kitchen section and spent a good bit of time perusing! There were lots of beautiful, substantially crafted mango wood kitchen items… pedestal bowls, serving boards, salt & pepper mills, etc. This hand carved bowl grabbed my attention, as did the oversized boards.

4. Oversized Clay Planter
Back in the outdoor section, I stumbled upon these giant planters! This thing measures 21″ x 21″ and cost far less than the options at my local garden center… and they’re crack resistant, if you’re looking for something more durable than terracotta.

Shop the Planter $129
5. Basketweave Canisters
These white kitchen canisters have a classic basketweave texture, sealing lid, are food safe, and would be pretty styled on kitchen shelves to contain pantry staples or coffee beans. I like that they have two sizes… it’s always nice to style with multiples.

Shop the Canisters $14.99
6. Rattan Woven Lampshade
If you’re looking for replacement lampshades… At Home had a TON. I was particularly attracted to this tapered woven shade made of rattan. It’s a great size with an even better price tag- $23.

Shop the Lampshade $22.99
7. Black Square Planters
These black square planters are basically a replica of a designer version I’ve seen floating around this summer. They have a timeless English garden aesthetic and would be lovely for a front porch, container garden, lining a pool, or flanking garage doors.

Shop the Planter $9.99
8. Marble Bistro Kitchen Goods
Back in the kitchen section, I took note of these huge marble lazy susans, lidded containers, salt cellars, mortar & pestles, etc. They had a fantastic marble section and the veining and marble quality was very nice in person. I may have to go back for some of these simple essentials!
Shop the Lazy Susan $49.99
9. Copper Mule Mugs
With fall and the holiday season just around the corner, keep At Home in mind for festive mule mugs! These 100% copper mugs were priced to sell, had a classic shape, and are available with and without a hammered texture.

10. Beaded Edge Oval Serving Trays
For $19, I had to get these oval serving trays! After having just shared my post comparing Pillivuyt French Dinnerware vs Budget Target Dinnerware, these felt cohesive with my existing collection. I’ll test them out and let you know how they wear.

Shop the Tray $19.99
11. Porch Lanterns
As I’m beginning to gather up the goods for our front porch for autumn, I loved the scale of these lanterns. I grabbed a pair for the porch and am excited to style them in the weeks ahead. I like that they include the candles!

12. Woven Baskets
The basket aisle, as expected, was pretty good. I always appreciate a classic woven basket and can usually find a place for one throughout my home… laundry hampers, planters, to corral dog toys, hold blankets, etc.

13. Oversized Serving Boards
I turned an aisle and was surprised to find more wooden kitchen goods. These oversized mango wood serving boards measure an impressive 22″ and would make the perfect kitchen styling & serving accessory… and they’re under $20.

14. Stainless Steel Serving Bowl
I grabbed this stainless steel serving bowl for our outdoor kitchen. I knew we’d use this one often… and I like that it will tie in our outdoor appliances. I could also see this making a great outdoor succulent planter / centerpiece. It’s on sale for $18.

15. Wood Pedestal
Last, but not least- this wood pedestal was really good in person. You could use it as a cake or serving stand… or next to your range to elevate salt, pepper, a butter bell, spices, and oils. It’s a versatile styling accessory for the kitchen that is also functional.

Tips for Shopping for Timeless Home Decor at At Home
I know At Home gets a bad rep for disposable home decor, but I’ll say this (as a designer)… if you dig and are conscious of materials, you can find some beautiful, nicely crafted essentials that will withstand the test of time. Anytime I make a home purchase, I want it to last and be something I’ll love for years to come. I will say this- I’d avoid their furniture, faux plants, and artwork section altogether. Here are 5 of my best tips for grabbing things that won’t end up being donated later on…
- Stick to the Essentials – items like I’ve shown throughout this post… kitchen goods and functional, simple everyday items.
- Choose Items Made of Natural Materials – look for solid wood, stoneware, 100% cotton, 100% linen, marble, etc.
- Double Check the Quality & Craftsmanship – everything has to pass my quality & craftsmanship inspection. Is it well made? Are there rough edges? Does it have a nice weight? Does it look cheap?
- Avoid Trendy Items – There are lots of trendy home items that will be out of style later this year… avoid those.
- Purchase with Longevity in Mind – choose items you know you’ll still like in 3-4 years. Keep the words “timeless” and “classic” in mind when making purchases.

FAQ
Aside from the dishes, I snagged a couple lanterns for the front porch, as well as a few faux pumpkins… that will most likely require me to faux paint them in a more convincing way. Once the weather changes and it’s time to redecorate the front porch for fall, I’ll be sure to share and link everything!
I feel this! It’s overwhelming and exhausting for me too, and I’m a professional with a trained eye. If it’s not an easy store for an interior designer to navigate, you’re not alone in feeling the chaos that accompanies this one. I’d recommend going in with a goal. If you need planters- stick to the garden section only. If you’re on the hunt for kitchen items, get in, get what you need, and get out. I think many people fall prey to mindlessly wandering around (since the store is so massive) and that’s how you end up bringing home junk.

I hope you liked this one! Which store should I search next? We’re actually on a boating trip this weekend as I’m starting some medical procedures next week, so a reset felt needed. It may take me a little longer to respond to comments. I’ve got a Noteworthy(!) post lined up for you next week to bring you up to speed, but depending on how things go- I may need to adjust the blog schedule. Check back for that, and I’ll keep you posted!
