Affordable Summer Picks from H&M Home

I’ve got a quick and fun summer source post lined up for you today! It has been awhile (over a year!) since I’ve perused the H&M site for home goods. I was on the hunt for designer dupes for some of my High/Low Home Picks and ended up bookmarking quite a few items. I thought they were worth sharing! As always, I found lots of beautiful textiles in natural materials, some practical picks, and a few surprisingly good finds for the kitchen. Click through for my favorite affordable summer picks from H&M Home…

Before we dive in… I pulled all of these product images from H&M, but I did order a couple things! I’ll be sure to show you how I style them once they arrive- one being this pretty striped throw. I’ve been obsessed with that color this season. What is it about a super soft throw, I clearly can’t resist? I just snagged the copper colored one from my home decor finds from Walmart post. Honestly, it’s getting used on the daily, so no complaints. Ready to see what I dug up during my recent search?

Summer Home Finds

I’m quite picky when it comes to big box retailers and fast home fashion. I always keep an eye on the size or scale, material, and closely examine additional product photos. My goal is to purchase items that look classic and will withstand the test of time… both in style and durability.

As I previously mentioned, my interior designer brain loves timeless stripes and lightweight cotton & linen this time of year. I found some really beautiful towels, quilts, and bedding this go around. I was pleasantly surprised to find a great looking glassware set, a textural mirror, some wood items for the kitchen, a planter, and handwoven baskets. Perhaps the biggest surprise was a pedestal. I had no idea H&M Home had started to dabble in furniture. Their pedestal rivals designer brands and is a fraction of the price… or another option is to simply build your own pedestal! Can’t you imagine summer florals styled on top in a pretty sculptural vase?

FAQ

What is your all-time best find from H&M Home?

I found an oversized ruffled handwoven basket. It’s still in the same spot, styled on my home office credenza. I love it!

How can you tell if something will be good quality?

Always check the material, zoom in on the images to inspect the quality or construction, and double check the dimensions. Often times, you can tell by carefully checking the specs. Something may be too small, is made of synthetic materials, or clearly isn’t well constructed. When shopping for budget home decor at online retailers, I try to be pretty selective! I only want to bring things into our home that we’ll use and love for many years.

  1. Good morning! Yay, H&M Home with all the summer vibes! Definitely loving the soft, billowy textiles, and I never met a stripe I didn’t like. I’m seriously eyeing the striped and checkered duvet covers. We certainly don’t need a comforter as we enter swelter season, but I might stuff it with a light blanket. Kind of a DIY coverlet? The price and colors are unbeatable. They’ve also stocked some pretty napkins and tablecloths…which I can never resist. The nutmeg striped towels could be a delightfully surprising addition to my bathroom. (Why have all my towels become dog towels?!) In no way do I need glassware, but the shape of those small tumblers is enticing. Also, hand carved wooden accessories never miss. Lots of classic, affordable picks, Sarah. Thanks for the annual reminder that H&M has homegoods. Ha. Excited to see your antique chair revamp on Friday! Cheers to staying cool, friend

Yay H&M bringing the summer vibes! Ooh checkered duvet covers- love that idea. I have to laugh at the dog towels, because we have plenty of those floating around the house. I was also pleasantly surprised by their beautiful glassware. Noted! My antique chairs are so close to being done, I just need to figure out the trim detail and I’ve been procrastinating. Emmett is away this weekend, so I’m determined to knock out some projects. Fingers crossed I can totally finish them! What are you up to this weekend? Hope it’s a good one!

  2. The way I always forget that H&M sells home decor! Good morning Sarah- and thanks for the reminder! I had a fun perusal of their site on Wednesday, and completely forgot to come back and comment. 😜 The pedestal offerings and those classic metal planters are the first thing that grabbed my attention- crazy good prices for both! I love the woven baskets they carry as well. I also spied quite a few bedding options in my particular shade of sage, and I’m here for it! This was a fun one, and a great reminder to think outside of my usual browsing, ha! Have a great day Sarah!

Right? Same. I had no idea they started doing furniture! The pedestals were definitely a happy surprise, and I love their baskets. I have a few and they’re nicely made. Hope you’ve had a good week! xo
