Christmas Tour: My Holiday Home Office
I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season thus far! Over the weekend, I hosted a favorite things party with some girlfriends, which turned out to be so much fun. As promised, I’m back to the blog today with one last stop on my interior holiday tour… my home office. This small room is where I spend the majority of my time throughout the work week. Designing, editing, writing, and scrolling- most days you can find me behind my computer. While my office is indeed for knocking out the to-do list and working, it has also become my little sanctuary- a place to light my favorite candles, tuck away meaningful objects, dream, read good books curled up on my daybed, and make grand plans. It’s a calming room that feels like me, and one I’m thankful for. This season, I kept it simple. Click through to see my home office decorated in an understated, classic way for the holidays!

Last year, I stuck to a theme throughout the majority of our home. If you missed my holiday office tour from last year, check it out here: Equestrian Inspired Christmas Tour : Home Office. If you’re behind on this year’s holiday home tour, I’ll link each space for you below!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the holiday room tours this year… I certainly had a fun time decorating and photographing these for you! After this one, it’s back to regular programming around here… unless it dumps snow, then I’d love to shoot an updated exterior holiday tour. We’ll see if the weather cooperates. In the meantime, here’s how my home office currently looks…
My Office Decorated for the Holidays

This corner vignette is always the most fun to decorate. I styled my black console table with design magazines, books, an oversized lamp, garland, and a seasonal candle from my shop, sticking with brown and orange hues.
Above the table, I added a wreath and ribbon to my antlers- can you believe those are faux?! Although, my thoughts may surprise you in this design discussion on taxidermy, if you’re new here.

On the adjacent wall, I repeated the same garland installation as last year… a simple cedar swag above my vintage art. At this point, I ran out of ribbon, but if I would have had more, I most likely would have added a bow here. It’s hard to believe I was designing my office built-ins four years ago, and it all started with this sketch.
My custom window treatments with that pretty Greek key edge detail are among my favorite things about this room. I also love how they perfectly frame my candle wall sconce, in which I added a sprig or two of greenery along with ribbon for the season.

I think it’s clever to sprinkle tiny holiday details around a room- even if they don’t scream Christmas. You don’t even need a tree… sometimes a simple sprig or wrapped gifts are more interesting tucked into a simple vignette.
My antique marble horse still graces the credenza Emmett built for me, which is the most handy for closed storage. If you guessed I have it completely filled up and organized, you’d be right. Ha!

FAQ
They’re expertly hidden! My printer is in the cabinet, I have a floor outlet under the rug, and my cords are zipped behind the desk leg. Here are 5 things every home office needs, in my opinion.
Since receiving my copy in October, I’ve really enjoyed paging through Decorate Like a Decorator by Dara Caponigro, the brains behind Frederic magazine (and Schumacher fabric). I highly recommend this one for professionals and hobbyists, alike. It’s filled with inspiration! You may also consider gifting a magazine subscription?
